Lucy Electric announces its support for BEAMA’s Climate Commitment
Lucy Electric, a leader in secondary power distribution solutions, is proud to announce it is a signatory and supporter of BEAMA’s Climate Commitment.
The British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers Association (BEAMA) Climate Commitment announcement, made on 11th October, commits the electrical manufacturing industry to industrial decarbonisation and sustainable product development – building a Net Zero electricity system from by 2050.
The three key points are:
- As domestic and international businesses we commit to reducing our emissions, as well as meeting the needs of the supply chain for the transition to Net Zero by 2050.
- We support the application of the most rigorous science-based approach to setting targets in line with a 1.5C future
- We commit to the delivery of sustainable ‘cradle-to-cradle’ products in our marketplace by 2050
Lucy Electric is playing its role in the transition to Net Zero by 2050 by enabling systems change, so its customers can optimise the impact of low carbon technologies; delivering the benefits of low carbon technology by creating innovative and flexible solutions to deliver the Net Zero ambitions of its customers; and striving to make its own business as sustainable as possible and to be a responsible corporate citizen.
Sustainability initiatives undertaken by Lucy Electric include:
- Installation of solar panels
- Installation of LED lighting
- Electric vehicle charging points installed at its Oxfordshire headquarters
- Zero waste to landfill in the UK
