The economic crisis arising from the pandemic has resulted in lost jobs and reduced income affecting families in Brazil who were already living hand to mouth. To try and help, an inspirational group of local women bake home-made bread to support families in most need. Lucy Electric Brazil (LEBR) put together an internal campaign called “Sharing our Bread” to collect ingredients so that these volunteers could bake more loaves. Staff from LEBR visited their community taking everything they had been able to purchase with the money raised to support them. This community is located close to the factory in Curitiba and has more than 900 families living in extreme poverty. Staff at LEBR were so glad to be able to help in this way.
